Legendarily, the word Tagaytay came from a shout that was heard all over the people in the place. One afternoon, a father and a son went to the forest to hunt a wild boar. The boar, chased his father and his son was crying "taga itay!" "taga itay!" Which means taga is cut and itay for father. From then on, the word tagaytay became the topic of the whole villagers and hunterers.
